Once a professional juggler and fire-eater, Tom Taylor is a #1 New York Times bestselling author, playwright and screenwriter.
For DC Comics, after years spent writing the international bestselling Injustice series, Taylor is currently the writer of the smash-hit DCeased series and the co-creator of an all new Suicide Squad (with much more to come). For Marvel, he has most recently written the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series, Hulk and the Star Wars: Age of Resistance series. Marvel recently teased another upcoming Taylor-penned series.
In 2019, Taylor had ten ‘Top 10’ selling comics in 12 months, with the DCeased series selling over a million copies alone.
Taylor is also the writer and co-creator of the Aurealis Award winning graphic novels, The Deep: Here Be Dragons and The Deep: The Vanishing Island.
Over the past ten years, he has been the writer on such titles as Wolverine, Batman/Superman, X-Men: Red, Detective Comics, Iron Man, and many Star Wars titles.
Taylor also writes for film and television. Most notably he is the BAFTA nominated head writer, co-creator and executive producer of the television series, The Deep, based on his graphic novels of the same name.
Three seasons of The Deep have been produced, so far, with the show screening in over 140 countries, including on Netflix in the US. The Deep has been the #1 rated animation in several territories, including across the UK where it screens on BBC’s children’s channel. The Deep has spawned a toy line, mobile games, a 4D ride, aquarium experiences, a partnership with real-life deep sea explorers, and a global publishing deal with Bloomsbury, who publish The Deep activity books and junior novels.
Tom Taylor is an adjunct fellow of Swinburne University… but he’s not sure what that means.
