Keith Heisler
Biography
Keith Heisler was born and raised in Plymouth, MA. A graduate of Boston College, he worked as a landscaper before eventually heading out to Los Angeles to try and make it in the television industry. Six years later he was hired as a writer on the animated show American Dad, where he still works today.
Besides writing, Keith is an obsessive doodler—as if permanently on hold, pen in hand, waiting for customer service to read back his order confirmation number. However, hamstrung by a complete lack of talent, Keith's artistic range ventures no farther than the old standards: simple 3-D boxes and the googly-eyes/nose combo.
Then one day at work, a random scribble on a piece of scrap paper inspired Keith to try and write a poem to accompany the drawing. But when it was finished, the poem and the picture simply got thrown into a drawer to sit and be forgotten.
A year or so later, Keith found himself with plenty of free time due to a television writer's strike. He remembered the poem and thought it might be fun to try writing a few more. The new hobby stuck.
Keith recently finished his first collection of poetry, Triumph of the Guinea Pigs, and eagerly looks forward to starting his next children's book.
Keith currently lives in Redondo Beach, CA with his wife Alicia.
