Patricia Batey
Biography
Patricia Rogers Batey lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her work has been purchased by Highlights for Children Magazine and has appeared in the Indianapolis Star. She is the recipient of an Individual Artists Grant, funded by the Indiana Arts Commission and The National Endowment for the Arts, to do research on her current historical novel.
Patricia received a scholarship to the Highlights Foundation Writer's Workshop at Chautauqua, and was subsequently hired by Highlights to work on their web site, Highlightskids.com, as a moderator and answering children's letters in Dear Highlights.
She has served as the Assistant Regional Advisor for Indiana SCBWI, presented at the Young Writer's Conference at Butler University, and currently teaches writing for children at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in dance, from Butler University.
